10 CULTURAL RESPONSIBILITIES

I love Pastor Brian Houston | Global Pastor over Hillsong Church
Last October, 10 friends and I went to NYC to the Hillsong Conference at Radio City Music Hall.
All in all, I would say this is the #1 thing that I brought back home.

These are the 10 things that every single person on staff at Hillsong Church
(All over the world) are responsible for.

1. I am a can do person.
Start there. Anything is possible. Attitude is everything.

2. This is not my job, this is my life.
Being in Ministry is unlike any job. It's 24 / 7. It's a calling - not a career.

3. I will serve The Lord with Gladness.
The Holy Spirit of God in us - Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, etc... It's our joy to serve.

4. Empowerment starts with me.
Feel like your hands are tied? Try recognizing why. Are you showing your supervisor that you have what it takes? Are you speaking their language? Are you showing them that you are capable and willing?

5. I'm not on the gossip train.
Pastor Brian said that he's made it one of his goals in life to never be the FIRST one that you hear the news from. There is so much wisdom in this.

6. I am one of them... Not one of us.
Humility. We serve our body. We're all in this together.

7. I will bring those around me on the journey.
No Dumping. Keep your friends & family up to date on what The Lord is doing. Say there is an issue: You dump it on your wife... The issue is resolved... You & others move on... But she's still broken about it. That's not good. Bring her on the journey.

8. My tone of voice is not whiney. Opinion divides.
Kids whine. Mature adults do not whine. Why would we? Don't be petty.

9. I delegate, but I don't dump.
Oh yeah, boss. I got that - Boom - Dumped it on some bloke who won't get any sleep for 2 weeks because you don't have your finger on the pulse of your team enough to know that it's too much. Fail.

10. My spirituality is attractive | I love God. I love People. I love Life.
Being alive in Christ is cool. Being spiritual isn't weird - it's attractive. Allow people to see that side of you. Allow your spirituality to be one of the reasons that people love and trust you.
